I’LL BE PM BY CHRISTMAS, NO NEXT YEAR……..

corbyn pmAt the Glastonbury Festival back in June 2017 Comrade Corbyn told his adoring masses that he would be British PM by Christmas.   With just two days to go before Christmas Day he clearly needs something drastic to happen.

However, his statement may not be all that it first seems.   In a wide-ranging interview with Grazia magazine, our Jezza said that it is likely that there would be an election in twelve months and that “I think we’d probably win it, with a majority”.   So he was obviously referring to Christmas 2018 when he made his bold claim at Glastonbury.

During this weeks Prime Ministers Question time, the last of the year, current PM Theresa May made fun of both of these statements much to the delight of her members in the house.    However, we have today been told by Liam Young in an article in The Guardian that at if you laughed at Corbyns latest claim then the jokes on you.   Liam claims that the polls show that more are turning to Labour while many in the country turn away from the Tories.    Well sorry to burst his festive bubble but the latest YouGov poll has the Conservatives one point ahead of labour, a small lead I know.    In fairness, most polls are either neck and neck or one point either way, so hardly an avalanche of support for Labour.

After the last budget, not the best period for any government, Labour opened up an eight point lead over the Conservatives.   However, after successfully coming to agreement on the first stages of Brexit, the current poll trends show a swing toward the Conservatives.  More significantly, when it comes to the contest between the two main party leaders there is only one clear leader, see below.

Liam rightly states that the perceived wisdom has always been that young people don’t vote and that they have no interest in politics.   Clearly this is no longer the case with more young people voting at the last election than for decades, with an estimated 67% leaning towards labour.    The promises made by Corbyn and his party to abolish tuition fees and wipe student debt must have been a key factor in this and the Conservatives need to try to win over the young vote going forward.    This will mean utilising social media, the main source of communication in the young voters today, as well as offering policies which resonate with the younger vote.    Despite Liam’s derision in his article, “chucking the millennial railcard” as he put it, along with the abolition of stamp duty for first time buyers, are a good start.  These are solidly based unlike the  un-costed promises with respect to student loans made by the Labour party which they have since back-tracked on with their usual double-speak.

As for another election in 2018, I don’t believe this will happen.   Surely The Conservatives have learned their lesson from the 2017.   There is no need for them to go to the people so soon, certainly not before we leave the European Union.   The only possibility is if they lose the support of the DUP, which appears unlikely.

However, say it does happen, why is Jezza so confident of success.    Could it lie in the story which came out this week about the multiple voting of a Labour supporter?  Mohammad Zain Qureshi, 21, was convicted of voting twice in the same constituency of Chingford and Woodford Green, Waltham Forest, during the election in June.   However, as can be seen below, it would appear that he was not alone.

However, the most damning was this tweet.

Outrageous that this was sent to Corbyn and he did nothing.    Either he condones it or more likely that his account is run by Momentum who will definitely condone it.   How many more of these multiple votes for Labour were there?

Jeremy Corbyn appoints convicted fraudster to his parliamentary office

Hard-left activist Marsha-Jane Thompson has been employed by Jeremy Corbyn to work in his parliamentary offifraudce.  Thompson was sentenced to 100 hours community service after being convicted of fraud and false accounting after she admitted to filling out and submitting multiple voter registration forms herself.

When approached for comment about the controversial staff appointment, a spokesperson for Mr Corbyn conveniently stated: “We do not comment on staff issues.”

This news has only been covered by The Telegraph, The Mail and The Standard.   Absolute silence from the left wing press

Grenfell fraudster

nguyen

Anh Nhu Nguyen pleaded guilty to fraud after he claimed that his wife and son were killed in the Grenfell Tower fire.    He obtained £12,500 from charities and Kensington and Chelsea Council as well as being given a hotel room, clothing, food and electrical items, all which should have gone to true victims of the fire.   Incredibly he even posed as a victim and shock hands with the Prince of Wales when he visited a relief centre set up in the wake of the disaster.

Nguyen, who was born in Vietnam and has been in the UK since the 80’s, has 28 previous convictions for 56 offences over 30 years including theft, dishonest offences, arson and grievous bodily harm.   In addition, he has 17 aliases.   Also, despite living here for 30+ years he still needed the help of an interpreter to make his plea of guilty on two accounts.   Obviously integration is still work in progress.

Kate Mulholland from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Nguyen’s deceit in the aftermath of such a catastrophic loss of life was breathtaking.”  What is also breathtaking is that this guy is still in this country with such a criminal record.   What I can’t believe is that no one thought to check whether his story was true.    Surely a simple check of his name against the official list of tenants at the flats would have identified that his claim was fraudulent.   Unfortunately,   so many “do gooders” were falling over themselves to be seen to be helping the victims that clearly no such checks took place.   How many others have got away with free handouts at the cost of others.
